I place great value on friendships. I believe that backyard cookouts and gatherings are a great place to deepen relationships and add value to people…even non-carnivores!
So, I was catching up with my good friend Megan Clifton from Nashville, TN the other day. She asked how the business was going. I told her about the blog and encouraged her to sign up for the Free Cookbook and let her friends know too. She said that a lot of her friends are vegetarians and vegans. My first thought wasn’t the usual “Eat Meat” thing at all. It dawned on me that the more I think about BBQ and the CULTURE of BBQ, that we’re kind of exclusionary. She said some don’t feel “invited” to the party.
I want to change that. I am going to do more Vegan/Vegetarian recipes and I’d like your help to get it done!
Hit me up by email or in the comments section and share some ideas/recipes that you’d like to see! Do you have a family favorite that you’d like everyone to try? Let’s do it!!
Amazing Buffalo Cauliflower is a recipe that I did a couple of years ago. I used milk and butter so for the vegan version sub accordingly. Danielle at The Lean Clean Eating Machine has a vegan recipe I want to try too!
I Love these things!!!!
So I see this post on Pinterest about Buffalo Wings…I knew I HAD to try them!!!
Are you kidding me??!!! Buffalo Cauliflower!!!
My beautiful Tammy and I are always looking for healthy versions of the food we love.
We are both watching what and when we eat and make healthier choices but certain foods really trip us up.
Pizza, for example, We both REALLY want a Coke when we have pizza. We’re doing well in training ourselves to try new things like drinking iced tea with pizza. Tammy makes sweet tea that is only lightly sweetened. We use natural, organic pure cane sugar instead of the bleached white stuff. We use real butter too instead of margarine.
We use coconut oil almost exclusively. Great for popcorn!!! We grew Kale in out garden and LOVE Kale chips!
We’re trying to completely eliminate high fructose corn syrup because there is really NO safe consumption amount.
Eating healthy is more and more a big deal to us. Some of the stuff I’ll be posting will reflect that.
I want to show you that you can enjoy some of the food you love and still be good to your body!!
